Wondering just how on earth a pair of earrings can help build a well in a village thousands of miles away?
For each pair of earrings purchased, we're setting aside 80% of the retail price to sponsor a well through Blood:Water Mission's "1000 Wells" project.
Blood:Water Mission is the organization founded by members of the Multi-Platinum, Grammy Award winning band, Jars of Clay. Through the "1000 Wells" project, Blood:Water Mission is building 1000 wells and clean water projects in 1000 African communities. By working closely with grassroots organizations, B:WM focuses on community and worldview transformation, both here in America, and in Africa. As businesses, churches, schools, and individuals help raise funds to sponsor the construction of wells, we learn about how HIV/AIDS affects African communities, and what it means to partner humbly with communities to pursue transformation
Through partnerships with Blood:Water Mission, our Retailers, and our Customers (that's you!) we'll sponsor our first well this year, followed by five to ten more in the next few years. Your participation will give Africans the gift of clean water to protect them from life-threatening illnesses. Women and children will no longer walk up to 10 miles a day to get water. People with HIV will live stronger, longer lives. Communities will flourish and be changed. You will be changed.
